Seyed Shapour Seyedi was born in Masjed Soleyman in 1963. A robust child, he excelled in his studies and, upon the advice of his physical education teacher, took up football during high school. With a penchant for practical and technical pursuits, Shapour chose to study electrical engineering. Balancing his studies, football, and helping out in his father's fruit shop, he was a busy young man.
Known for his warmth, sincerity, kindness, honesty, and outgoing nature, Shapour was beloved by many in his community. During his time in high school, he joined the county's football team. In 1981, he became the champion of the Khuzestan province youth league and its top scorer. He went on to play for professional teams such as Daraei, Esteghlal, Rah Ahan, and Naftoun. After completing his military service, he joined the Paper Pars Haft Tapeh football team and was employed at the factory in 1987. He later earned a bachelor's degree in history from Azad University of Shushtar.
Shapour was deeply devoted to his family and felt a strong sense of responsibility towards them. After retiring from playing, he pursued a career in coaching, obtaining an Asian Football Confederation coaching license. He led the Paper Pars Haft Tapeh football team to victory in the Khuzestan provincial league. Shapour married in 1993 and had one son.
Tragically, Seyed Shapour was killed on October 15, 2005, at the age of 42, in an explosion caused by a bomb planted by the Harakat al-Nidal (ASMLA) terrorist group in Ahvaz.
