Masoud Amani was born in 1971 in the city of Sanandaj into a Sunni Muslim family. His father was named Aref and his mother, Subieh. His father was a construction worker. Masoud lost his mother at a young age. He studied until the seventh grade but had to drop out due to the family's financial difficulties and began working in a bakery. Masoud was a very kind and sociable person. He treated everyone, young and old, with respect. Masoud helped the poor and assisted his father in supporting the family. He always believed that pleasing God was the same as pleasing his father. Masoud spent his free time in the mosque, reciting the Quran. He always prayed on time and encouraged others to do the same. After working in the bakery for eight years, he joined the military at the age of 18. Tragically, on October 12, 1991, the Komalah terrorist group attacked the village of Khoshkalan in Marivan and opened fire on Masoud and his friends who were playing football. Masoud was killed after being shot in the head and chest.
