Hojjatollah Azhdari Esfandabadi was born in 1951 in the village of Esfandabad, a district of Abarkuh. His father was named Ezzatollah and his mother, Jahani. His father worked as a laborer. He completed his primary education but was forced to drop out due to the family's financial hardship, eventually joining his father in construction work. Known for his respectful and kind demeanor, particularly towards his neighbors, Hojjatollah and his family later moved to Shiraz in search of better economic opportunities. At the tender age of 15, he actively participated in the Islamic Revolution, joining demonstrations and rallies. Following the revolution's victory, he became a regular attendee at Friday prayers in Shiraz, encouraging others to participate. Given his background as a member of the underprivileged class, he always empathized with the working class, forging strong bonds with them and striving to alleviate their hardships. Despite being eligible for a medical exemption due to a serious surgery, his passion for the Islamic Revolution and a desire to defend the nation led him to enlist in the army at the age of 20. Ultimately, he was martyred on October 18, 1984, at the age of 23, during an attack by the Komalah terrorist group at the Ladin base in Sanandaj.
