Alireza, Erfan Entezami

Alireza Entezami was born on February 14, 1998, in a Muslim religious family in Shiraz. He was the first child of the family. He had a slight congenital limb deformity and he had to undergo a surgical procedure at 12. Until then, he had to wear a splint.

He was a docile child and very respectful toward his parents. He loved Quran and managed to memorize the 30th chapter of the holy book. Being raised in a devout family, Alireza was fond of attending religious gatherings and sessions and he accompanied his parents in the religious sessions of Rahpouyan Vesal cultural center in Shiraz.

Erfan Entezami, Alireza’s younger brother, was born on January 9, 2004, in Shiraz. They were close brothers and they were known as such among their relatives and friends.

It was the 12th of April, 2008, when the Entezami family went to the Seyed al-Shohada Hosseinieh to participate in the weekly sessions. Alireza and Erfan along with their father went to the male section of the Hosseinieh. Shortly after an hour, an explosion rocked the building killing 14 and injuring several others. People rushed to help the victims seconds after the attack and they gave their all to save the life of their fellow citizens.

Alireza, 11, and Erfan, 5, were among those who were innocently killed in the attack.

Later, it turned out that the Tondar terrorist and monarchist group a.k.a. the Kingdom Assembly of Iran perpetrated the attack. The bombers were arrested and when they asked about their incentive for killing a number of innocent children in the attack, they said, “a child who is in the Hosseinieh leads the government physically and must be killed. We kill to achieve freedom.”

The ringleader of the Tondar terrorist group, Jamshid Sharmahd, who led his terrorist operations from the US was arrested by the Iranian security and intelligence forces back in August 2020.

Tondar is an armed terrorist royalist group seeking to overthrow the ruling government and restore the monarchy in Iran.

Tondar claimed responsibility for the 2008 Shiraz explosion at the Seyed al-Shohada Hosseinieh in which 14 people, including children, were killed and 215 others were injured.
