Seyed Nour Khoda Mousavi

Seyed Nour Khoda Mousavi was born into a large family in September 1970 in Lorestan. His father was an ordinary worker. Nour Khoda was a kind and forbearing guy who was brought up in a devout Muslim family.

Having received his high school diploma, Nour Khoda completed his military service and then sat for the university entrance exam. He was accepted into the University of Police. He was graduated from university, got married, and fathered two children. He showed a keen interest in his family and led a happy married life with his wife.

He moved to Tehran for a living due to his job and stayed there for some years. Soon he was assigned as the Commander of Special Forces in Zahedan and started going back and forth to the Southeastern city.

In one of the missions on April 1, 2008, Nour Khoda and other law enforcement personnel responded to an armed assault by the Jundallah terrorist group in Lar district, Sistan Baluchistan Province. During the first moments of the operation, a bullet hit Nour Khoda. His friends rushed to help him where he was lying on the ground with a bullet hole through his forehead. They put him in the back of a car and tried to take him to the hospital, but the car was stopped by the terrorists’ nonstop firing. His friends loaded him into another car and took him to the hospital.

Doctors assessed him and realized that he had minutes left to live and there was nothing they could do for him. However, they took him to the surgery. Seyed Nour Khoda Mousavi was hospitalized for 3 months and fell into a coma to remain in a persistent vegetative state for ten years.

During an interview, his wife addressed the leaders of the countries who claim to be human rights defenders, saying, “My husband remained to take the lid of the terrorist Jundallah group’s crimes with his lifeless body. He is the sweat of shame on the forehead of all those who claim to be protecting human rights while they are the biggest supporters of terrorists. I’m sure they have no response for my son when he expresses the frustration of Nour Khoda’s long years of lying on the bed.
