Prosecution Dismantles MEK's Ideology, Citing Crimes Against Iranian People

The 39th session of the trial of 104 members of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK) was held in Branch 11 of the Tehran Province Criminal Court. In this session, the plaintiffs' lawyer, Hojjatoleslam al-Muslimin Masoud Maddah, elaborated on the terrorist crimes of the MEK, describing the indiscriminate killing of children, women, men, the elderly, the young, and non-combatant civilians as a part of the group's savage crimes. He emphasized that the criminal titles of "efsad-fil-arz," "moharebeh," and other criminal titles are the least that can be attributed to the criminals of this organization. Maddah recalled that the MEK had three types of cooperation with the Iraqi Ba'athist regime during the 8-year imposed war: military cooperation, espionage and intelligence cooperation, and direct involvement in the killing of the Iranian people.

The representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army, Farrokhi, also emphasized that their so-called "National Liberation Army" could under no circumstances be considered a national liberation army, as its formation, organization, equipment, funding, armament, and even operational orders were prepared by the Iraqi Ba'athist regime. Shoa'eddin Falahdoost, a retired and disabled colonel, testified as a witness, stating that the National Liberation Army of Iran was nothing more than exaggeration and propaganda, and the members of this group were not elite, trained military forces.

Fuad Basri, one of the members who had left the MEK, testified that the organization had a specific enmity with the people and nation of Iran and would martyr wounded soldiers by shooting them. Zainab Farahmandzad, a professor of international law, explained that in international law, there are differences between legitimate liberation movements and organizations like the MEK, and these groups do not represent people under domination or colonization.

Ghasem Tabrizi, an expert on contemporary history, emphasized that if we put all the betrayals of other groups on one side of the scale, they would be negligible compared to the crimes, betrayals, and depravities committed by the MEK against the Iranian people. In conclusion, the judge adjourned the court session, announcing the next session for October 8.
