‘I was involved in 4 terror attacks’

Along with 5 more MKO terrorists, Mohammad Reza Salmani participated in a series of terror attacks resulting in 11 deaths in Tehran.

Following are parts of his confessions broadcasted on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB):

“Under the nom de guerre Qassem, I joined the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) in Iran’s western province of Kurdistan in summer 1983. I was sent to Tehran the next year before I was trained for military operations at several bases in Kurdistan. There, I was introduced to Saeed Jalali as my commander. Along with him, I was involved in 4 terror attacks as follows:

1. I was the firing person in an operation in Golbarg St., Narmak in which we assassinated a man called Ali Qomi.

2. As well as being the firing person, I was riding a motorbike in an operation to assassinate a plumber called Ebrahim Moradi. He didn’t survive my shooting 3-4 bullets.

3. I was also involved in an operation to assassinate Masoud Zahedi, chief of a primary school in Behboudi St. I was riding the motorbike while he was injured by my shooting.

4. I was both the riding and firing person in the last operation. I fired a rocket-propelled grenade on the Islamic Revolution’s Attorney General Office on Shariati St.

This was the last operation following which I was arrested in April 12, 1985.”
