Twelve Members of Ansar al-Forqan Terrorist Group Killed or Arrested

Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence announced that 12 members of the extremist group Ansar al-Forqan were killed or arrested during security operations in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

According to a statement released by the Ministry and reported by Fars News Agency, 11 individuals were detained in three joint operations conducted by the Qods Base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the provincial intelligence department of Sistan and Baluchestan, and the national law enforcement forces. One operational commander of the group, identified as Gol Mohammad Shahouzehi, was killed during an armed confrontation with security forces.

The Ministry said the suspects were planning attacks in the province and had been hiding in areas on the outskirts of Zahedan. Security forces reported the seizure of an RPG launcher, 24 RPG rounds, two Kalashnikov rifles with ammunition, six handguns, and materials allegedly used for bomb-making.
