Incident Description:
Around 16:45, a powerful bomb exploded in the Qods Store, producing a loud noise and resulting in the martyrdom of 4 people and the wounding of 26 others. Two people were arrested in connection with the incident. The martyrs included two drivers of a Peykan and a BMW who had stopped at the gas station next to the Qods Store on Valiasr Street to refuel. A woman and a child were also martyred. Names of some of the wounded include: Hossein Yazdani, Abdolreza Mohammadi, Aziz Ghasali, Mohammadreza Afkan, Fatemeh Bargozideh, Mrs. Ehsan Ahmadi, Akbar Habib, Saber Mohammadi, Mrs. Seyfi, Nematollah Reazadeh, Mrs. Soltani, Mrs. Farhmand, Khosravi, Namidi, Kazemi, and Karimi.
In this explosion, damage was caused to the adjacent gas station, passing cars, and windows of surrounding buildings. The bomb used TNT and other explosives connected to a timed device hidden inside a Blazer vehicle.
Names of two of the martyrs are: Fereydoun Rashad Kochsafahani and Daryoush Shahzadi (from the Zoroastrian religious minority).
