Dariush Chapari was born on September 9, 1949 in the city of Sanandaj. At the age of seven, he eagerly took his father’s hand and enrolled in an elementary school in Sanandaj, beginning his journey of education. He successfully completed the five-year elementary program, but due to financial hardships and the need to support his family, he was forced to leave school.
As he entered adulthood, he married a noble and devout young woman in 1974. When the people's movement against the oppressive Pahlavi regime intensified, he, like many of his peers, joined the revolutionary struggle.
Following the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he answered the call of Imam Khomeini (RA) and quickly joined his brothers in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). For years, he fought to defend the revolution and cleanse the region of anti-revolutionary groups, taking part in numerous operations. During one such mission in 1981, he sustained serious injuries to his right eye and ear. Yet, despite his injuries, he remained steadfast in his dedication to safeguarding the revolution.
Finally, on December 17, 2005, after 27 years of devoted service, he was assassinated by the PJAK terrorist group in his brake pad shop on Taleqani Street in Sanandaj. In a brutal act of terror, he was shot in the head before the eyes of his son, Edris. His body was laid to rest among his fellow martyrs in the Martyrs’ Section of Behesht Mohammadi Cemetery.
