Akbar Shokrgozar was born in Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh, a city in and the capital of Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh County, Gilan Province, in 1955. He was chief of Intelligence Organization of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (IRGC). In this position, regarding the atmosphere of insecurity that were created by the Mujahidin-e Khalq terrorist group, he played a very important role in Security of urban and rural areas. Finally, on January 04, 1983, he was assassinated by three bullets of an agent of Mek in Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh.
