Iran condemns ISIL's terrorist attack in Sinai

TEHRAN, Jul. 07 (MNA) – FM spokesperson, while slamming Sinai terrorist attack, warned against a recent wave of blind terrorist operations by defeated ISIL groups across the globe.

Spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bahram Ghasemi condemned the ISIL terrorist attack in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula which killed and wounded several people and sympathized with families of the victims.

He further warned that “scattering and escape of terrorists, following their humiliating defeats in Iraq and Syria, pose serious threats to the entire region and the world.”

“Any kind of outreach or instrumental use of terrorist will cause a new wave of blind terrorism in different parts of the world,” he stresses.

At least ten Egyptian soldiers including a colonel were killed in a suicide bomb attack on an army checkpoint in northern Sinai. Another 40 fighters were killed in a subsequent gun battle with soldiers at the checkpoint.
