Martyr Mohammad Hasan Shekarchi was born on May 22, 1961 in a middle class family in northwestern city of Zanjan. He was the fifth child in his family. After he finished his studies, Mohammad Hasan was recruited by the local police. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, he joined the newly established Islamic Republic Party. Martyr Shekarchi used to watch the city’s Bazaar at nights. As the Iraqi imposed war on Iran started, he volunteered to be dispatched to the warzone and fought the enemy at Abadan for 40 days. Then he returned to Zanjan and after a short while he was again dispatched to Abadan.
In the meanwhile, terrorist Mujahedin e-Khalq Organization members had started their terrorist activities in Zanjan. After one of the MKO’s terrorist operations in which a shopkeeper was shot dead and another one severely injured, Mohammad Hasan chased the terrorists. He was then shot by MKO members when chasing them and after he was transferred to the hospital, Mohammad Hasan Shekarchi was martyred.
