Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, issued a message on the occasion of the second anniversary of President Raisi's martyrdom and the commemoration of the Martyrs of Service. The text of the message is as follows:
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Commemorating the martyrs of the May helicopter crash—foremost among them the martyred president, Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Raisi—recalls the martyrdom of a host of devoted servant-martyrs in the Islamic Republic of Iran. From Motahhari, Beheshti, Raja'i, and Bahonar, to Raisi, Hashem, Amir-Abdollahian, and Larijani: hundreds of prominent figures, nurtured in the school of the great Khomeini and our dear Khamenei (may their noble ranks be exalted), who have adorned the record of sincere and tireless service by the officials of the Islamic Republic with their own blood.
Among the outstanding characteristics of martyr Raisi were his sense of responsibility, support for youth, attention to justice, active and beneficial diplomacy, and above all, his close connection with the people. These qualities inspired confidence among Iran's friends, including the fighters of the powerful resistance front, and among many who wish the system well. All of this was intertwined with a spirituality rooted in the depths of his being. In the relationship between officials and the people, positive and impactful qualities generate mutual appreciation. That is why his farewell procession, as he departed for the presence of his master and lord, Imam Reza (peace be upon him), was marked by an unparalleled grandeur. His unfinished presidency provided a measure of the dedication and compassion he harbored for the nation and the country, all while preserving its independence.
Today, we stand in the face of the heroic feats of the Iranian nation in its historically unique resistance against two global terrorist armies. This reality places a heavier burden of responsibility on the officials of the Islamic Republic—from the Leadership and heads of the branches of government down to all levels of management. The true gratitude for the blessing of national cohesion between the people, the government, and all institutions of the Islamic Republic lies in strengthening the motivation for doubled and devoted service by officials; in resolving the problems and concerns of the people, particularly in the economic and livelihood spheres; in maintaining field presence and direct engagement; in defining a serious role for the awakened nation in the path of the country's progress; and in moving hopefully toward a bright future.
May God's mercy and blessing be upon the martyrs of the path of service. And may divine support and the prayers of our Master, may God hasten his noble reappearance, be the backing of all those who serve the Muslim people of Iran.
