PJAK Terror Attacks in Western Iran Leave Three Security Personnel Martyred, Two Injured

In a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in western Iran, three Iranian security personnel were martyred and two others injured following assaults by the PJAK terrorist group in Baneh and Sardasht.

According to local officials, border guards in Baneh County clashed with PJAK militants on the night of July 21 (31 Tir) in the Siranband border region during a routine patrol mission. The clash resulted in the martyrdom of two border guards and injuries to another, who was promptly transferred to the hospital.

Baneh’s Governor, Ahmad Mohammadzadeh, confirmed the incident and also reported that in a separate confrontation the night before (July 20), Sergeant Sina Satarvand, a member of the Baneh Border Regiment, was critically wounded in a firefight with PJAK elements. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

In another attack, reported by the IRGC’s Sardasht branch, a Basij member, Meysam Kabiri, was martyred when PJAK gunmen opened fire on a rural IRGC outpost in the village of Oghlan, Sardasht. Another IRGC member sustained injuries in the assault.

These attacks highlight the ongoing threat posed by PJAK militants along Iran’s western border regions.
