The MEK stole two hundred million Toman from the pockets of the people of Hamadan

The MEK terrorist group has always had numerous financial resources which provided its weapons and operational needs. One common way of meeting their financial needs before fleeing to Saddam was the armed robbery of banks.

According to Habilian, the armed robbery of one of the branches of Hamedan's Mellat Bank in 1982 was one of the most significant robberies of this group whose main press organ also published the details of this robbery.

Based on this document, elements of the group’s operational units murdered the bank guard on 17th Shahrivar Street in Hamedan on November 17, 1982 and then took all the money deposited in the bank, which was 201 thousand Toman (equivalent to two hundred million with the current currency value) and then fled the bank on a motorcycle.

Interestingly, in order to justify stealing people's money and assets, the MEK claimed in their magazine that the money in the bank was in fact stolen by the government officials from Iranian people and that they robbed the bank for the benefit of the people!

They also claimed that the people present in the bank at the time welcomed the armed robbery!

It is worth mentioning that that robbing banks is one of the sources of satisfying financial needs of terrorist groups. In 2014 when Mosul city was occupied by ISIS, all the banks in this city were robbed by this Takfiri terrorist group.
