Excerpts from the book:

One day, Taher (Javad Mohammadi) entered the house and attacked the Committee members. Afterward, he came out and said that extracting information from them this way was impossible. He suggested that we terrify them and use the harshest methods to get the information. Initially, we tied them to chairs as we had done before and poured boiling water on their swollen, bloodied feet, causing their skin to crack and blisters to burst. We punched them until their mouths bled and their teeth broke, then used pliers to pull out the broken teeth. Despite their weakened state and groaning, we continued. We cut their ears with knives. When they lost consciousness, we intensified our methods. Once, when one of them regained consciousness, Taghi placed a hot iron on his back, burning him until he fainted again. When they woke up, we poured hot water over their heads, causing their faces to blister. We then tore out their hair along with the burnt skin and struck their heads and faces with lead rods, breaking one of their jaws. We whipped the blistered areas with cables, causing blood to gush from their bodies. The the Committee members wished for death a thousand times over, as we had used every method imaginable. Taher dragged the knife across various parts of their bodies, leaving no part unbloodied. Finally, in our frustration and having obtained nothing, we gouged out one of their eyes and decided to kill them.
