Raeisi at the UNGA: Iran, the true vanguard of the fight against terrorism

The Iranian President said in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly that the Iranian nation, a victim of terrorism, has today become the true vanguard of the fight against terrorism in the world.

According to Habilian, the Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi in his speech at the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York, criticized the US government’s support for terrorist groups saying that the then Iranian President Mohammad Ali Rajaei who had stood on this podium over forty years ago, was assassinated by a US-backed terrorist group sometime after his speech.

The president then emphasized that the Iranian nation, which itself was a victim of terrorism, has now become a pillar of security in the region and a leader in the fight against terrorism in the world.

Pointing out that it does not matter to the Islamic Republic of Iran that ISIS was created by which American governments, Mr. Raeisi said, “The problem is that a government on the other side of the globe decides to destroy the geography of our region at the cost of shedding the blood of hundreds of thousands of women and children, but the Islamic Republic stopped this project.

Mr. President praised the role of General Qassem Soleimani in commanding the war against terrorism and ISIS adding, “Lieutenant General Soleimani was assassinated in the way of freedom of the nations in the region, and the former President of the United States perpetrated the atrocity of assassinating him.”

Slamming the countries that support terrorism, Raeisi said that a country which claims to promote justice within itself, but trains all kinds of terrorists abroad to pit nations against one another, or forces nations to surrender by putting them under pressures, should feel ashamed of humanity, freedom and justice.
