Raeisi in Interview with Al Jazeera: ISIS carry out MeK’s Methods

The Iranian President said in a conversation with Al Jazeera that ISIS who commits crimes in the region is implementing the same methods as the MeK used to carry out in the first years of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

According to Habilian, the Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi in a conversation with Al Jazeera criticized US hegemony and hostility toward Iran saying that Americans supported the MeK as they provided financial, propaganda and information support to Saddam and the Iraqi Baath Party in the Iran-Iraq war.

“ISIS who commits crimes in the region is implementing the same methods as the MeK used to carry out in the first years of the victory of the Islamic Revolution,” Raeisi said.

This statement of the president refers to a wave of suicide attacks by the MeK in the early 1980s, which led to the martyrdom of a number of Friday Prayer Imams and dozens of worshipers that was unprecedented in the region until then.

Referring to the assassination of more than 17000 Iranian citizen including President, Prime Minister, the head of the country’s Judiciary by the MeK, the president said: “Americans and Europeans themselves designated them as a terrorist group putting them on their black lists, but now they are supporting and hosting them. Our question to them [the US and European governments] is why do they support for a group that they themselves declared them terrorists and who have shed the blood of 17,000 men and women, young and old.”
