Salahuddin Rabbani Condemns the Terrorist Attack in Imam Reza Holy Shrine

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan issued a statement in response to the terrorist attack on three Iranian clerics in the courtyard of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad.

Salahuddin Rabbani, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated:

Hearing the news of the terrorist attack on three religious scholars in the courtyard of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in the martyrdom of one and injury of two others, has caused deep sorrow.

Such tragic events, which are rooted in the Takfiri deviant line of thoughts, oblige us more than ever to take the danger of militant extremism seriously.

Afghanistan, which has always been a good example of religious tolerance, has unfortunately been the main victim of extremist groups and deviant currents for almost two and a half decades more any other nation.

While condemning this terrorist attack, I offer my condolences to the family of the late Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Aslani, the government, and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and I ask Almighty God to heal the injured in this tragic incident.
