Conference held in Tehran to mark national day of counter-terrorism

On the occasion of the Iranian national day of counter-terrorism, Tehran hosted ‘Iran against terrorism, terrorism against Iran’ conference.

The conference was organized by Habilian Association, an Iranian NGO representing families of terror victims in Iran. Former Secretary of State Dr. Manouchehr Mottaki was the key speaker in this event. Dr. Mottaki referred to the infamous Mujahedin e-Khalq organization as a complex terrorist group and said: The first point to consider about the MKO is its clandestine leadership. The secrecy in leadership of an organization brings confusion to its members. He then pointed out Abubakr Al-Baghdadi’s presence in U.S. prisons in Iraq and said: “It won’t be long before Al-Baghdadi, like Osama Bin Laden who was a business partner of the Bush family, is removed from the face of the earth.” Mottaki continued: “Western countries remove their main puppets in terrorist groups to cover their involvement in terrorism.”

Seyyed Mohammad Javad Hasheminejad, Secretary General of Habilian Association, was another speaker at the conference. He said in a part of his speech that families of terror victims are the living evidence of terrorism against Iran. Mr. Hasheminead also added: “Unfortunately, we have tasted the bitterness of terror from the first day after the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and it is still going on.” Habilian SG continued: “Our enemies have always tried to change the place of terror victims with sponsors of terrorism.” Mr. Hasheminajad also criticized some Western countries for supporting the MKO and sheltering members of the terrorist group. He also included that the MKO has already undertaken any kinds of crime the ISIS is perpetrating today.
