MKO announces satisfaction for UIC’s assassination of 600 people in Amol

The Mujahedeen e-Khalq terrorist group has announced satisfaction for the assassination of 600 people in Amol forests between Oct 1981 and Jan 1982 by the Union of Iranian Communists.

According to Habilian Association database (Specialized Center of Research on the MKO's Crimes), the MKO terrorist group has made the expression in No. 139 of the Mujahid Journal, the group’s main press organ during early years of the 80s.

According to Union of Iranian Communists’ statement, which the MKO has republished much of that in its publication as a bravely achievement for the so-called resistance groups, the union has assassinated 600 people during three operations in Amol in Nov 9 and Nov 13 1981 (18 and 22 Aban 1360 in Persian calendar) and January 25, 1982 (5 Bahman 1360).

In 1982, Iranian Maoist organization Union of Iranian Communists mobilized forces in forests around Amol and launched an armed campaign against the Islamic Republic. It eventually organized a revolt on 25 January 1982. The uprising was eventually a failure and many UIC (S) and Maoist leaders were shot. After the failure of the “Amol Uprising” the group went through a difficult period with most of its leadership and cadres arrested or killed. It also experienced various theoretical and political crises.
