MKO claims responsibility for assassination of two Housing Foundation’s members in Gilan

The Mujahedeen-e Khalq terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the assassination of two members of the Housing Foundation* of Gilan in 1981.

According to Habilian Association database (Specialized Center of Research on the MKO's Crimes), the MKO terrorist group has made the confession in a news published in No. 132 of the Journal of Mujahid, the group’s main press organ during early years of the 80s.

According to the confession, on December 13, 1982, an operational unit of MKO in an ambush-style attack shot and killed two members of the Housing Foundation of Gilan in Rasht, the capital city of Gilan Province. According to this news, the attack’s victims were Ghulam Hussein Zahmatkesh and Abdul Husain Haghshenas, two of the administrators of Gilan’s Housing Foundation. The news adds that another member of Gilan’s Housing Foundation named Ahmad Ghasemzadeh was severely injured during the assault. Ambush-style attacks were among the common techniques of terror practiced by the MKO during the early years of the 80s.
