ISIS, MEK Zionists’ boots on the ground in the region

A former senior Iraqi Member of Parliament says ISIS and Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK, a.k.a. MKO) act as US and Zionists’ boots on the ground in the region.

Foud al-Dorki told Habilian’s correspondent in Baghdad that MKO’s presence in Iraq is illegal on account of the group's involvement in the suppression of 1991 uprising in Southern Iraq.

MEK killed thousands of Iranians during the 1970s in an effort to gain power in Iran. Having failed, it went to Paris and started supporting Iraq in its bloody war on Iran. In 1986, MEK moved its headquarters Iraq where it received full support from the Iraqi Ba’ath regime.

Following the US-led invasion to Iraq the group lost its support inside Iraq and the Iraqi government wants them out of the country. So far some 2,700 MKO members out of 3,400 are still at Camp Liberty near Baghdad’s International Airport, waiting to be relocated to third countries.

Referring to the relocation of a small number of MEK members outside of Iraq, al-Duraki said Iraq is making efforts to convince other countries to accept the rest of the MKO members held in Iraq.

Reiterating the crimes of MEK in the suppression and killing of Iraqi people, al-Duraki added that MEK allied with al-Qaeda in the post-Saddam era.

MEK members’ presence in Iraq is illegal even if it is a peaceful presence, let alone that they have asked for weapons.

He finally added that MEK is cooperating with Satan as well as all the terrorist groups especially ISIS. It intends to conduct the US and Zionists’ projects in the region which leaves an unfortunate impact on Iraq’s security.
