Bahrain denies reports of offering to host MKO terrorists

Bahrain’s foreign ministry has denied the latest online reports that Manama has agreed to host the members of the terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq organization (MEK, a.k.a. MKO and PMOI).

According to a Monday report by Habilian Association, a human rights NGO representing the families of Iranian terror victims, Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Mohamed Al Khalifa described the reports regarding the Bahrain’s willingness to host the MKO as “baseless and lacking any credibility”.

“I am absolutely unaware of the issue,” the Bahrain-based Arabic language Al-Watan newspaper quoted the Khalid al-Khalifa Bahrain Minister of foreign affairs as saying.

Earlier this week, the Iraqi Buratha news agency quoted an anonymous source as saying that in a meeting with U.S. ambassador in Manama, the Bahrain foreign minister has “announced readiness to give refuge to members of the Mujahedin-e Khalq organization,” FNA reported.
