As the scale of civilian suffering grows from the US-Israeli bombardment of Iran — including repeated strikes on schools and hospitals — a powerful chorus of outrage has erupted from Latin America and Europe. Antifascist movements, geopolitical researchers, and veteran journalists have branded the campaign as barbaric imperialism, deliberate genocide, and a desperate attempt by a declining Western order to cling to global domination. They warn that the targeting of children and civilian infrastructure reveals the true face of the aggressors and demand an end to the cycle of plunder and violence.
1. Uruguayan Antifascist Movement: “Defeat Imperialism – Victory to the Iranian People”
The Antifascist International, Uruguay Chapter, has strongly denounced the United States’ attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing it as part of a wider war waged by “Anglo-Zionist imperialism” against the entire Global South.
The group linked the assault on Iran to the ongoing genocide in Palestine, the war against Russia, aggression against Venezuela, and the criminal blockade of Cuba. It quoted US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s recent statement as explicit proof of the real aim: “to prolong five hundred years of Western domination of the world.”
“The bloodshed that imperialism has sown across the earth must stop,” the statement declared. “The peoples of the world must unite to counter this barbarity.”
The Antifascist International offered its full solidarity to the Iranian people and government, expressing confidence that Iran will firmly resist in defence of its sovereignty and self-determination. It concluded with a powerful call: “For world peace and against imperialism! For the just struggle of the Iranian people! Homeland or death. We will win!”
2. Italian Researcher: “Star-Spangled Freedom Has Always Worked This Way”
Giovanni Amicarella, Communications Manager for the Centro Studi Eurasia Mediterraneo, has drawn a stark historical parallel between the current atrocities in Iran and past Western aggression.
Amicarella reminded readers that the deliberate targeting of schools and hospitals in Iran is “nothing new,” recalling how the same powers bombed Italian cities and massacred civilians eighty years ago “to keep us in their orbit.”
“Star-spangled freedom (and not just this one) has always worked this way,” he wrote. He emphasised that when his organisation previously stated that Iran and Palestine concern Italians more than many realise, “we meant exactly this.”
Amicarella extended condolences to Iranian victims and to Italian soldiers currently deployed in the Middle East “serving interests that aren’t our own,” warning they risk suffering bitter consequences.
3. Argentinian Journalist: Attacks Were “the Logical Conclusion of a Decision Already Made”
Ursula Asta, a distinguished Argentinian journalist and member of the editorial board of Radio Gráfica, has strongly condemned the US-Israeli attacks and the deaths of so many innocent civilians.
Asta criticised the large-scale bombings that took place while nuclear negotiations were still underway, along with the deployment of aircraft carriers. She argued that these elements, combined with the escalating narrative, prove the assault “was not an improvised response.”
“These attacks were the logical conclusion of a decision already made,” Asta stated, calling for clear and uncompromising criticism of the aggression.
