Molavi Mostafa Jangi Zehi was the Friday prayer leader at Al-Khadra Mosque in Rask. He was a staunch advocate of Shia-Sunni unity in Sistan and Baluchestan, constantly striving to promote Islamic unity, and often referred to it in his speeches as a hallmark of true faith. Despite repeated threats from various Wahhabi groups in Sistan and Baluchestan, as well as from abroad, he consistently declared that martyrdom in this path would be a great honor for him and that he would never stop exposing Wahhabism and anti-unity elements. Even after the abduction of his son by Wahhabi elements, he refused to abandon his stance.
Finally, on January 20, 2012, just hours after leading Friday prayers, Molavi Mostafa Jangi Zehi was assassinated on his way home.
