Zahedan terrorist attack left 3 IRGC, Basij martyrs

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced that Friday armed attack on the security forces left three martyrs and 32 others injured.

According to the public relation department of the Force of the Southeast IRGC, renowned commander Hamid-Reza Hashemi, the deputy head of the information department of the Salman branch of IRGC in Sistan and Baluchestan province, along with Mohammad-Amin Azarshokr and Mohammad-Amin Arefi were martyred in terrorist raid on military forces following the Friday prayers in Zahedan city.

Governor General of Sistan and Baluchestan province Hossein Modarres Khyabani said that the total number of death toll in Zahedan terrorist incident reached 19 and some 20 others were wounded, including some police forces.

Some rioters, affiliated to terrorist and separatist groups, participated at Friday prayers sermon; then, they started attacking military forces, the official noted.

Pointing to the fact that residents of the province did not show sympathy with the terrorists, reminding that it is clear the military forces stood against the terrorists firmly, when civilians were under the terrorists’ fire.

The terrorists planned to take hold of a police station, he said, adding that they set fire on public properties, including banks, stores and governmental centers.

An informed source said on condition of anonymity that two elements of a terrorist group were killed in the Friday clash.

The security source went on to say that the two terrorists were identified as Abdolmajid Rigi and Yaser Shah Bakhsh, and that the elements tried to provoke people to destroy public properties and kill civilians and security forces.
