Iran condemns terror attack in Nigeria

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned recent suicide bomb attack by Boko Haram in north-east Nigeria, which killed and wounded dozens of people on Wednesday.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari roundly condemned a suicide bomb attack on a mosque in the capital Maidiguri of Nigeria’s Borno State on Wednesday which was carried out by Boko Haram militants and caused the death of at least 22 Muslim worshippers.

“Recurrence of terrorist operations in different parts of the world indicates the necessity for adopting required policies and measures for an effective and all-out confrontation with terrorism and extremism,” he said.

The Iranian diplomat further extended the Islamic Republic’s solidarity and condolences to the bereaved families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the ones injured.
