In a meeting with John Dramani Mahama, the President of Ghana, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stressed the importance of relations between the two nations and reiterated: “Imperialist powers are opposed to Iran’s warm relations with Africa. They are the main cause of wars and conflicts and they feed terrorist groups, but the cure for all these problems lies in that independent countries get close to and increase cooperation with one another.”
Iran's leader pointed out that the interests of arrogant powers lie in creating insecurity and waging different wars in all areas of the world and added: "Terrorist groups in our region and in Africa have been trained by the intelligence services of America, England and the Zionist regime."
Referring to Mr. Mahama's statements about suffering of Syrian people at the hands of terrorism, Ayatollah Khamenei said: "The root causes of all problems are arrogant powers leaded by the United States and the Zionist regime is the embodiment of malevolence.”
At the end, Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the solution to ending the suffering of people in countries like Syria and Palestine and confront problems such as terrorism, lies in close cooperation between independent countries.
Earlier Sunday morning, president Rouhani had also stressed the need for closer regional and international cooperation in the fight against extremism and terrorism in a joint press conference with Ghana's President.
