US to Israel: Stop killing Iranian nuclear scientists

CBS News reported that the Obama Administration wants an end to the Israelis’ targeted killings inside Iran.

According to CBS News’ Dan Raviv, sources close to Israel’s intelligence agencies “revealed that they felt pressure from the Obama Administration to stop carrying out assassinations inside Iran.”

In a string of attacks since 2009, Israeli affiliated assassins have assassinated four Iranian nuclear scientists inside Tehran.

“Although Israel has never acknowledged it, the country's famed espionage agency - the Mossad - ran an assassination campaign for several years aimed at Iran's top nuclear scientists. The purpose was to slow the progress made by Iran, which Israel feels certain is aimed at developing nuclear weapons; and to deter trained and educated Iranians from joining their country's nuclear program,” Raviv added.

In a book, entitled Spies Against Armageddon: Inside Israel’s Secret Wars, Dan Raviv and Israeli journalist Yossi Melman concluded that Israeli spies have killed at least four Iranian nuclear scientists.

According to Raviv’s chapters in the book, in its pursuit to delay Iran’s military nuclear program, Israeli intelligence services are working with terrorist Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK, a.k.a. MKO and NCRI).

Following the assassination of Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, Jewish journalist, Richard Silverstein, wrote “today’s murder was the work of the Mossad and MEK, as have been a number of previous operations.”

Silverstein went on to say that these assassinations “accomplish nothing”, adding that “it doesn’t fundamentally harm Iran’s nuclear program.” “It doesn’t deter Iran or its scientists from pursuing the research and whatever scientific goals they may have.”
