Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast condemned the US police's indifference to the last week attack on Iranian diplomats in New York by the members of the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO), adding the deed proved the inhuman nature of this terrorist grouplet. |
Mehman-Parast said that defamatory behavior of agents of the MKO in New York showed their real nature, which is an ugly and inhuman nature of terrorists.
He added it seems that even other groups abroad were opposed to such a behavior and they showed negative reaction and reprimanded it and none of them approved of such a behavior.
New York City police and the US security forces made no arrests as the attackers physically abused members of the Iranian delegation accompanying Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in his visit to the United States to address the 67th session of the UN General Assembly.
The US State Department on Friday removed the MKO from its list of foreign terrorist organizations. The decision made by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton enabled the group to have its assets under US jurisdiction unfrozen and do business with American entities, the State Department said in a statement on Friday.
Iran's first reaction came on Saturday when the Iranian Foreign Ministry in a statement condemned the US move and said it displayed Washington's double standard policies.
