A senior Iranian lawmaker condemned the delisting of the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) from the US terror list, and underlined that the move showed Washington's double-standard policies on human rights. |
"By supporting Monafeqin (the hypocrites as MKO members are called in Iran) terrorist grouplet, the US proved that it has a double-standard view on human rights," member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Nozar Shafiyee told FNA on Sunday.
He also stressed that the move showed "Americans are opposed to any terrorist who acts against the US, but it never includes those terrorists who work for the interests of the White House in its blacklist".
His remarks came after the US State Department on Friday removed the MKO from its list of foreign terrorist organizations.
The decision made by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton enabled the group to have its assets under US jurisdiction unfrozen and do business with American entities, the State Department said in a statement on Friday.
