The senior advisor to the head of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation stated that a total of 3,468 people were martyred in the Ramadan War, of whom 1,460—equivalent to 45% of the martyrs—were ordinary civilians.
According to Mehr News Agency reporter, Jamshid Nazmi, senior advisor to the head of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, spoke at a press conference for the "Ramadan War Headquarters" on the performance of the foundation during the third imposed war. Referring to the human and social dimensions of the "Ramadan War," he stated that one of the most tragic events of this period was the bombing of a school in Minab. According to him, this incident not only affected the people of Iran but also influenced global public opinion, bringing about a wave of international sympathy and protests.
Emphasizing the continuous presence of the people on the scene, he added: The nearly two-month presence of the people in the streets demonstrates their serious support for the armed forces and the continuation of the path of resistance—people who do not see themselves as separate from these forces and consider supporting them a national duty.
Nazmi also reported on the actions of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation during this period, saying: With the start of this war, five vice-presidencies of the foundation, along with provincial and headquarters general directors, began their activities in the form of the "Ramadan War Headquarters," utilizing past experiences, and are continuously attending to the affairs of the families of the martyrs.
Referring to the visits conducted, he added: During this period, more than 6,800 visits have been made with families of martyrs across the country, which have been accompanied by the participation of various segments of society and grassroots groups.
The senior advisor to the head of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation continued: Given the significance of the Minab disaster, planning is underway to hold an event aimed at giving this incident global exposure. Additionally, the construction of a memorial for the martyrs of this event at the site of the incident is on the agenda to ensure this historical tragedy remains in the collective memory.
Concluding with the statistics of the martyrs of this war, he said: In total, 3,468 people were martyred in the Ramadan War, of whom 1,460—equivalent to 45% of the martyrs—were ordinary civilians.
Following him, Abbaspour, the Deputy for Health of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, stated: There were 34,060 veterans and wounded individuals in the third imposed war, most of whom were treated on-site or discharged from hospitals.
He added: Currently, 150 of the injured are still undergoing treatment and are hospitalized.
