Ghazanfar Khavand was born in 1956 in Kerman. He migrated to Italy to study. He continued his revolutionary activity by becoming a member of the Islamic Association of Students in Europe. He was repeatedly threatened by the Mojahedin-e Khalq terrorist group (aka MEK, MKO, PMOI). Finally, on October 17, 1981, he was martyred by the MEK during the demonstration against the perpetrators of the assassination of Mohammad Ali Rajai and Mohammad Javad Bahonar in Rome.
