Iran’s Parliament Speaker said at the airport in Tehran before leaving for Moscow to attend the "Parliamentary Members vs. Drugs" conference that the terrorist groups are being financed by drug trafficking.
Elaborating on the objectives of his trip to Russia, Ali Larijani told the reporters at Mehrabad Airport that “ the main purpose of this trip is to attend Parliamentary Members vs. Drugs' slated for Dec. 4 in the Russian capital, and I will hold an important meeting with Russian officials there on the sidelines of the conference.”
Pointing to the fact that illegal drugs is an important issue for both the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia, Larijani added that the production of narcotics in Afghanistan has increased despite NATO's claims and it seems that they are either indifferent to the problem or are helping the traffickers secretly.
