Iran slams Sar-e Pul deadly attack in Afghanistan

TEHRAN, Aug. 09 (MNA) – Iran has strongly condemned the horrendous massacre of 50 people including women and children in a village in northern Afghanistan carried out jointly by Taliban and ISIL, according to local officials.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi on Wednesday issued a statement in which he strongly condemned a brutal terrorist attack on Mirza Olang village in a remote Sayad district of northern Sar-e Pul province in Afghanistan that killed scores of civilians, including women and children.

He also expressed his condolences over the “brutal” and “inhumane” massacre to the families of victims, as well as the government and nation of Afghanistan.

Ghasemi further noted enemies’ long-standing hostility and enmity toward the innocent people of Afghanistan, calling on all Afghan people to be more vigilant and unite more strongly against such horrendous human catastrophes and terrorists’ acts of violence with a sectarian nature.
