Details of the Armed Attack on a Police Patrol in Zahedan

According to Habilian citing Iranian news agencies, the Public Information Center of the Sistan and Baluchestan Police has reported the occurrence of an armed attack on police forces in the city of Zahedan.

A few hours earlier on Wednesday, April 29, unidentified armed individuals opened fire on a police patrol that was carrying out its mission to ensure the security of citizens.

As a result of this attack, First Sergeant Mohammad Reza Nezamdoost attained the high rank of martyrdom, and three other officers present at the scene were injured. The condition of the injured was initially attended to by emergency and medical teams.

In a subsequent development, two of the injured officers succumbed to his wounds. First Lieutenant Ali Momeni and Ali Asghar Galdavi two of those injured in the terrorist shooting targeting the police patrol unit that occurred that morning in Zahedan city, have attained martyrdom.

In its statement, the Sistan and Baluchestan police emphasized that immediately after the incident, intelligence and operational measures to identify and pursue the perpetrators of this attack began, and security forces are actively following up on the matter.

The statement also added that the security of citizens remains fully on the agenda of law enforcement forces, and efforts to apprehend the attackers continue with seriousness.

Police officials have announced that further details of this incident will be shared with the public after field and intelligence investigations are completed.
