Iranian Speaker Warns of Fomenting Insecurity in Region by “Hidden Hands”

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf warned that “hidden hands” are attempting to foment insecurity in the region and sow discord among Muslims.

Foreign powers are trying to create ethnic and religious strife among Muslims to lead them to regional civil wars and fratricide, Qalibaf said, addressing the closing ceremony of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran on Saturday.

He referred to the recent developments in Afghanistan, and said that “hidden hands” are seeking to push the region into eternal insecurity.

Qalibaf also noted that the recent crimes in Afghanistan and major plots by the US and the Zionist regime to create chaos and discord in Lebanon and Iraq are in line with this plot.

He stressed the role of Islamic Ulema, noting that the healing prescription for overcoming this difficult and complex enmity is the awareness and knowledge of the Muslim Ummah.

In relevant remarks in August, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian underlined the US negative role in exacerbating the security situation in the regional states,.

Referring to the emergence of the terrorist ISIL group and the irreparable losses it caused, he added that the Islamic Republic of Iran, in the fight against terrorism, rushed to the aid of Iraq and did its best in this regard, while the US government committed a big crime and martyred Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the IRGC Quds Force, along with Martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of Iraq's Hashd al-Shaabi.

He highlighted that not only did the US not bring peace and security to the people of this region, but they were also the main cause of insecurity, and this is clearly visible in many countries in the region.
