Ghulam Reza Akbari was born in Fuman, a city in and the capital of Fuman County, Gilan Province, in 1951. He had studied up to Elementary school, but due to poor economic conditions could not continue his education. After the revolution, Morteza joined Rasht's Firefighting. Ghulam Reza Akbari who had active role in countering anti-revolutionary groups, especially the MKO terrorist group, finally was assassinated by them on November 27, 1982.
