Austrian minister: Europe convinced Iran contained terrorism

Austrian federal minister of agriculture, forestry, environment and water management has said that there is a consensus in Europe that Iran played a major role in containing terrorism.

Andra Rupprechter said in order to fight terrorism it is necessary to promote public welfare and establish justice and security in the countries that produce terrorists, IRNA reported on Wednesday.

He said the talks in the UN mainly focused on more welfare, fresh water, and supplying energy to establish justice for the entire Middle East region which is regarded as effective in containing terrorism.

On the consequences of the presence of refugees in Austria and other European countries, the Austrian minister noted that some populist parties attempt to equate Islam with terrorism.

He added a minority group would not be capable of tarnishing the image of a big religion like Islam.
