Iranian FM Charges US, Saudi Arabia of Supporting Terror Groups


Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamad Yavad Zarif accused the United States and Saudi Arabia of supporting terrorist groups in the Middle East, social networks broadcast in a message here today.
Zarif explained that both the US and the Saudi governments are trying to nullify Tehran's role in the defeat of the Islamic State or Daesh, while trying to hide their support for radical and extremist groups.
In this way, the Iranian diplomat refuted Washington and Riyadh statements issued during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, with which they tried to change the reality.
Tehran came to help Syria and Iraq in the fight against terrorism, at the request of the governments of those two countries, while the North Americans and the Saudis created the criminal gangs, he said.
At the Forum in Davos, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubair described Riyadh as a representative of the 'vision of light' and Tehran 'vision of darkness' and then concluded that light will overcome darkness, said Zarif. .
Since the beginning of the conflict in Syria, in 2011, and in Iraq, in 2014, the Islamic Republic of Iran has played a key role in supporting peace in the Middle East, said the Persian diplomat.
On repeated occasions, the Syrian and Iraqi authorities thanked the role of the advisers of the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guardian Corps to eradicate terrorism.
Meanwhile, said Zarif, media and intelligence and even representatives of the Syrian irregulars, confirmed that Saudi Arabia and the United States provided financial and logistical support to the Islamic State and other terrorist groups.
