Min. of interior unveils arrest of terrorists in eastern Iran

TEHRAN, Jul. 21 (MNA) – Iran’s minister of interior affairs has said 40 terrorists have been arrested in east of the country during last two days.

Speaking at the quarterly session of Parties' House on Thursday, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli noted the turmoil and insecurity in the region calling the attempted coup in Turkey a “great shock” for all political analysts and regional players.

Underlining the key role Iran plays in the region, Rahmani Fazli reaffirmed that enemies are trying to benefit from all positive and negative developments inside the country; “Islamic Republic’s friends and foes in the region do consider Iran’s influence in every single act and analysis.”

He also informed on latest development in Iranian borders of west and east and the recent arrest of a 40-member group in a eastern province, who was seeking to carry out terrorist acts against police and security centers; “they had dug a 30-meter-long underground passageway at a depth of 20 meters near the target places.”
