Belgrade, June 3, IRNA – Third International Conference on Global Fighting Against Terrorism themed 'Fighting Terrorism for Global Security and Protecting Vital Infrastructure' opened in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, on Thursday with Iran presence.

The event was organized by Iran's Embassy in Romania, Foreign Ministry's Office for Political and International Studies and the country's research and studies centers, the ongoing conference is attended by Romanian officials and experts from Iran and European states.

Addressing the opening session of the two-day conference, Iran's Ambassador to Romania Hamid Moayyer said that the spread of terrorism in the Middle East is currently the huge scourge of the region.

He said that the main reason behind the evil phenomenon is instrumental use of terrorism by certain powers to advance their policies in the Middle East and subsequently across the world.

Emergence of the Takfiri groups and spread of terrorist acts across the globe, especially in the Middle East and North Africa, is the outcome of deceptive acts by the arrogant powers, said the ambassador.
