Iran plays key role in fight against terrorism

UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura underlined Iran's important role in campaign against terrorism.

In a phone conversation with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Staffan de Mistura said following the recent meeting of the Munich Agreement, Syria ceasefire will begin on Saturday midnight.

De Mistura noted that Iran has a constructive role in the fight against terrorism and helping to restore ceasefire to Syria. “All countries attended in Munich recent meeting supporting Syria played role in helping sustain the ceasefire in the country.”

Amir-Abdollahian reassured the positive measures taken by United Nations and efforts of special envoy Staffan de Mistura, saying Iran has always supported ceasefire and dispatch of humanitarian aid to all areas except for the areas where the terrorists are present.
