Iran’s speaker urges resolute int’l fight against terrorism

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined the need for a serious international resolve to root out terrorism in the world.

Speaking at a joint press conference with the visiting President of the French Senate Gerard Larcher on Saturday, Larijani said he had “serious dialogue” with the French lawmaker about terrorism.

“We need a serious international resolve in counterterrorism (efforts),” he reiterated.

“There are realistic reservations about terrorism that should be taken into consideration,” Larijani said, adding that his talks with Larcher were “constructive and progressive”.

Larijani further pointed to the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and said France has the rights to be active in counterterrorism efforts in the region.

Since mid-November France has launched a new series of raids against ISIL strongholds in Syria after terrorists killed over 130 people and injured 350 others in the European country’s capital.
