Obama: ISIL speaks for no religion

The US President Barack Obama said that the ISIS "speaks for no religion" and vowed relentless response to the terror group it supported in Syria.

Speaking in a televised speech from Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, where he is vacationing with his family, Obama urged allies in the Middle East to join together in routing the "cancer" of Islamic State (ISIS) a day after the jihadists released a video of the beheading of a US journalist.

The comments came a day after the ISIS terrorists released the footage of beheading a US journalist, Jim Foley.

"Jim Foley's life stands in stark contrast to his killers. Let's be clear about Isil: Isil speaks for no religion, Obama added. "Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim and no faith teaches people to massacre innocents. No just god would stand for what they did yesterday and what they do every single day."

John Kerry, the US secretary of state, was even more forthright, saying bluntly that Isis "must be destroyed". He said: "Make no mistake, we will continue to confront Isil wherever it tried to spread its despicable hatred. The world must know that the United States of America will never back down in the face of such evil."

Now the question arises why do you want to destroy a group, which was one of your allies in Syria? Why did you support a group which "speaks for no religion"?

According to Senator Rand Paul the (ISIS) "would not be in power in Iraq, if we were not providing safe haven in Syria by arming their allies."

Earlier in June, Paul revealed that the US government armed the terrorists in Syria. "We have been fighting alongside al-Qaeda, fighting alongside ISIS," he said. "ISIS is now emboldened in two countries."
