Born and raised on the family farm in Vishka village in northern Rasht province, Hossein Mottaqi helped his father with farming. He spent his school years and received his diploma in his birthplace.
Despite his young age, the affable and good-tempered Hossein involved in the revolutionary and anti-Shah activities along with his family members. After the Islamic Revolution in 1979, they engaged in the cultural and social activities in their mosque.
Hossein Mottaqi started his military service and was dispatched to Zahedan. After a while, he was killed during a clash on 1st July 1987.
