Russian Journalist: U.S. needs MKO

A prominent Russian journalist says the only reason that the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO, a.k.a. MEK and PMOI) is on the planet is due to the fact that the U.S. needs them.

“I think they [MEK] took part in the events after election in 2009,” Nadezhda Kevorkova said during a meeting with Habilian Association Secretary General Seyed Mohammad Javad Hasheminejad in Tehran.

According to the confessions made by those arrested in the 2009 post-presidential election protests in Iran, the terrorist MEK group played a key role during the unrests.

Denying the MKO’s claim for bringing democracy to Iran, Kevorkova said the MKO members do not exist in her country.

“I am a friend of Iran. I like Iranian people very much. First time I visited Iran in 2006 and it was a great experience for me,” she added.
