Major General Mohammad Aziz Riazi was born into a religious farming family in Shaft, Gilan. After he ‎finished his primary school, Mohammad Aziz went to Rasht, the capital city of Gilan province, in order ‎to receive his Diploma degree in Natural and Experimental Sciences.‎

When he got his high school Diploma degree, Mohammad Aziz migrated to the Capital city of Iran and ‎started his job in Ekbatan town. There he was rubbing shoulders with anti-Shah revolutionaries. Riazi ‎joined them to topple the US-backed regime. Thus, Mohammad Aziz went back to his birthplace after ‎he got sacked from the factory he worked because of his political and religious activities. ‎

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Riazi worked as a teacher in Shaft for one year. He joined ‎the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) almost immediately after it was established in ‎‏1979‏‎ on ‎orders from Ayatollah Khomeini. Later, he was appointed as the IRGC commander for the city of Shaft ‎due to his dominant role and capabilities in the IRGC.‎

Finally on October ‎‏7‏‎, ‎‏1982‏‎, Riazi along with a number of his friends were targeted and assassinated by ‎Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK, a.k.a. MKO and PMOI) terrorists. ‎‏
